Publications

The Loyal Legion Historical Journal (LLHJ) is published quarterly under the authority of the Trustees of the Memorial Fund of the Military Order of the Loyal Legion of the United States. Relevant submissions concerning the Loyal Legion and its current members and activities as well as submissions concerning historical aspects about MOLLUS and any of its Companions are welcomed by current members and the general public, provided space is available. Currently the LLHJ is a publication distributed to members in the Spring, Summer, Fall and Winter.

Content is to be submitted electronically and formatted in MSWord. In order to be published, all photographs and graphics must be submitted in high resolution at 300 dpi (.jpeg or .tiff file format) at the finished size. Due to space limitations, submissions should be limited to no more than two full 8½” by 11″ pages when typed in 12-point type and single-spaced. Submission deadlines are customarily 60 days before the publication date. Additional details and requirements can be found in the downloadable .pdf file entitled: Authors Guide.

Commencing with the Spring 2026 (Vol. 83, No. 1) issue, the Loyal Legion Historical Journal will cease its print editions and become an electronic-only periodical and will be directly distributed to the membership and other qualified parties via the Order’s Constant Contact email service. Current and back issues will also be posted to the organizational website.
